Work History

The following list includes the most recent full-time administrative and teaching positions I have held at Texas A&M University. I have also worked part-time for a international consulting firm, Leadership Development International (LDi), to help prepare experiential learning curricula and materials for use at the international campuses with which they have partnered. For more information about my work for LDi, please see Consulting. In addition I have edited many technical writing resources, including textbooks and teacher manuals. These editing projects keep me current on the latest topics, issues, and resources affecting technical writing curricula, and many of my suggestions have been incorporated (and credited) into the textbooks I have reviewed.

August 2010 to present	Chemical Engineering	Assistant Lecturer	Teach technical writing to students who are chemical engineering majors.
January 2005 to August 2010	English	Assistant Lecturer	Taught technical writing courses, both honors and regular, in web-delivered and computer classroom formats and teach inquiry-guided rhetoric and composition courses.
July 2005 to August 2008	Office of Honors Programs	Undergraduate Research Fellows Coordinator	Coordinated all functions of this yearlong senior-level honors program.
January 2005 to July 2005	Office of Honors Programs and Academic Scholarships	Thesis Supervisor	Instructed and supervised student participants in the University Undergraduate Research Fellows Program on completing their undergraduate theses.
August 2003 to December 2004	Physics	Lecturer	Instructed students enrolled in Physics 218, an introductory physics course for science and engineering majors, on how to prepare scientific papers including technical reports and memos.
August 1994 to May 2003	English	Assistant Lecturer	Taught technical writing courses to college students of various academic disciplines.
January 1992 to January 1993	Center for Academic Enhancement (currently the Student Learning Center)	Lecturer	Taught a developmental reading lab designed to improve the reading skills of students needing Texas Academic Skills Program (TASP) remedial work and to meet state TASP requirements. Taught academic support programs and workshops for enrolled students.
August 1989 to January 1992	English	Lecturer	Taught Technical Writing and Rhetoric and Composition to college students of various academic disciplines.
November 1988 to June 1989	Intercultural Development Research Association	Education Editor	Edited materials and supervised the production and dissemination of all documents written by IDRA staff and outside contributors.
January 1989 to May 1989	San Antonio ISD Continuing Education	English Instructor	Taught adults basic grammar and writing skills.
January 1987 to July 1988	English	Lecturer	Taught Technical Writing and Rhetoric and Composition courses.
August 1987 to December 1987	English	Assistant to the Director of Freshman English	Helped plan and develop the Freshman English Program as a co-coordinator and advisor to all GATs, as a member of the Freshman English Committee, and as a coordinator and supervisor of the Writing Outreach Program.
January 1985 to December 1986	English	Graduate Teaching Assistant	Taught 12 sections of Freshman English (Composition and Rhetoric) courses.
